I am currently walking London to Cape Town.
In August 2004 I left London with my husband Gary to walk to Cape Town, in South Africa. In our first year we walked 5000km through France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco to reach MHamid el Ghizlaine, where the road runs out and the Sahara begins. We then bought four camels and hired two guides, and set out for Dakhla, on the Mauritanian border. Gary left the walk during this period and I walked alone for six months, through 2,500km of the Sahara. In September of 2006 I will return to the desert to complete a trans desert crossing with my guides and camels, and if all goes well, will carry on walking through Africa. I am originally from Australia, though for the last five years, England has been my home.
